What are the hours of operation?

  1. Terminal — The Duluth International Terminal is open 24 hours a day.  The TSA gate is unlocked two hours before the first scheduled flight in the morning. The airlines ask that you arrive 90 minutes prior to your departure time.
  2. Airline Ticket Counters — Our airline managers recommend arriving sixty to ninety minutes before your scheduled departure.
  3. Rental Cars — We have multiple rental car agencies available. Please refer to the Rental Car page for the most current hours and contact information. Hours are based on flight schedules and are subject to change.
  4. Duluth Airport Authority Admin Office – Our office hours are 8:00am – 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Does the airport have an air carrier incentive program?

Yes, DLH does have an air carrier incentive program. To learn more about the program, visit our Policies, Procedures + Airport Fees page.


Can I ship or receive puppies?

This one depends on the airline. It is best to check their Policies first. For questions about picking up a puppy at our airport, you can contact our airline cargo/freight office at (218) 726-4023.


I lost an item while traveling. Do you have a Lost & Found?

Losing an item while traveling isn’t fun. We’re here to help find it. There are three ways to recover a lost item, depending on the location or time it went missing.

Lost during screening?
If it was lost during the screening process, TSA will be your best bet. Call (218) 727-7430 to reach a service agent.

Lost in the airport?
If the item was lost in the actual airport or grounds, our security office can save the day. Contact them at (218) 625-7763. If security is not in their office, please leave a brief message describing your missing item and we will return your call.

Your airline can also help you track down lost items.

Lost on the plane?
If the item was left or lost on the plane, the Airline can help you file a lost item claim.


How do I find my flight status?

Contact your airline for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
Visit the United website or call (800) 864-8331.
Delta Airlines information is available online or at (800) 221-1212 (choose the “Check my Flight Status” option). 


I will be flying out of Duluth and plan to park at the airport. What is the charge?

Our Parking page includes all daily rates and parking information.


What can I take in a carry-on?

The TSA website offers a list of approved carry-on items including medical supplies and liquids.


Does the airport provide a shuttle service?

The Duluth International Airport does not provide its own shuttle. However, taxis, rental cars, and DTA buses all provide service to the airport. Please visit our Transportation page for details.

Who do I contact regarding Fixed Base Operations, such as Fueling and Charter Service?

Our Fixed Base Operations are run by Monaco Air Duluth. They handle all private and charter planes, along with fueling and maintenance. Their website is www.monacoairduluth.com or you can contact them at (218) 727-2911.


Are there wheelchairs available at your terminal, and my destination?

The United and Delta ticket counters have wheelchairs waiting at all times. Please visit our Accessibility page for more information. Let the ticket agent know, and he or she will arrange the wheelchairs for your destination.


Do you exchange foreign currency?

Unfortunately, the Duluth International Airport does not provide this service.


I need to page someone at the airport. How would I do that?

Our DLH Security office can be reached at (218) 625-7763. The Security Officer may be patrolling other areas, so keep trying periodically if someone doesn’t pick up. You can also look for a DLH airport official around you to help.

Parking FAQ

How does parking at DLH work?

When you arrive at DLH, you will receive a ticket when you enter the parking lot. Make sure that you hold onto that ticket throughout the duration of your parking stay. Scan that ticket when you exit the parking lot, the system will calculate what you owe and you pay with credit card upon your exit.


Do I need to reserve in advance?

No reservations are needed at DLH! You will pay for your parking when you exit.


How much does it cost?

The cost of parking is calculated based on the length of stay. You can view our rates here. The cost also depends on whether you park in the Surface or Ramp lots.


How do I pay?

Payment will be made by credit card upon exiting the parking lot. No pre-payment or reservations are required.


Where is it located?

As you pull up to the DLH Terminal on Grinden Drive, follow signs for Parking. The parking lot will be on your left, and the terminal on your right.


Why is ramp more expensive?

Most levels of the ramp (except the top floor) are covered and offer limited weather protection. If you check in online and have no checked baggage, you can use the Skywalk to access the terminal directly on the 2nd floor, where the gates are located. (Check-in counters and baggage checking are on the 1st floor).
